Teton Pass Junk Show(?)

Wyo22tetonpasseast

We've blogged a few times already about the dilemma on Teton Pass.  Large amounts of people, limited parking, angry hikers, fights, etc.  Here's a link to a recent article about the issue from the Jackson Hole News.  I had a long discussion with some friends about the situation, it's a bummer that it's come to this.  Hopefully things can get worked out.  In the meantime, you can find me in other local backcountry treasures, with no boot packs, highways, or parking spaces to have to worry about.  Leave a comment and tell us what you think.

Too bad all you Pass skiers can't get along. Then there could be some sort of cooperation on who's going to get avalanched and killed next, when no one seems to care about avalanche conditions anymore. Sooner or later, one/ or more of you are going to kill someone one their way to work. opefully they don't have any children with them.

We agree that people need to do a better job getting along, but your negativity and talk of "killing someone" doesn't help anything. While there are many who don't observe avy warnings and dangers, a majority do. And rest assured, most of us do care about avalanche conditions. Thanks for the comment though

JCM I would agree that most skiers on the pass are responsible backcountry users. Trouble is, the people you are having problems with are most likely the ones that aren't. Todays Paper- "Car partially buried by avalanched caused by snowboarder in Twin Slides". Enough said.

JS - I agree, this is what we've been afraid of. Let's hope everyone takes notice and "checks themselves"
