Extreme Altitude Medical Training 2008

I was invited to be an instructor for the 2008 EaMT (Extreme Altitude Medical Training) course in Nepal in January. This year it was taught in Phortse in conjunction with the Khumbu Climbing School. We taught
our 5 day course to Sherpas who work in the trekking and expedition arenas. We had 30 students and it was a great success. We had several students who have summited Everest more than once and also had 4 women in the course. The course was developed by Sue Purvis who was the lead instructor. She had developed a curriculum to teach wilderness medicine to people for whom English is a second language.
