4 Dollar Make Me Holler!!
This is the first time I have ever personally seen a $4 on the gas price board (north of Jackson, WY). If I drove a diesel, it would definitely be converted to biodiesel, probably about $1 ago. The question still looms: how high does the price of gas need to get before people stop driving regularly? With a gallon of (non-organic) milk costing more than $3 now, it won't be long before you start to see more people riding the bus, or better yet, the bike.

Imagine how it effects us tournament anglers?!? granted, we are not running diesel, but still....Fill the truck: 26 gallons. Fill the boat: 45 gallons. You do the math.

Can't you run a boat on ethanol or solar powered energy? Seems like an engine that size could do great with a few photovoltaic panels charging it up.

Big 2-stroke engines cannot run on Ethanol. Even the new mix (E10) presents issues in older (and new) 2-stroke engines - the most significant being decreased mileage and total destruction. New outboards are being designed to accept the inevitable switch to E10 so that is the bright side of this whole deal.
Solar is a good idea, but when you run these outboards at 5500-6000 RPM's for 70 miles....the sun isn't going to get you too far.
