Don't Leave Home Without Your Duct Tape

Vanity MK Ambassador Jonathan Willy is currently traveling around India and the Himalayas, rock climbing and experiencing the culture.  Here he checks in with a riot of a story, in his own words:

So there I was strapped to the bed post and covered in motor oil...

Well, not exactly, but how about under the truck with a roll of duct tape and a buck knife...  Yeah I know, no big deal, except for the truck is full of useless tourists and it seats twelve.  Oh yeah, it's dark and raining...did I mention the fog?  One more thing, we're at 13'000 feet and I'm re-wiring the damn mini-bus's headlights with speaker wire, on the side of Rhotang Pass, Himachal Pradesh Himalaya.

An hour earlier a British tourist asked why American's are so proud of their country, when according to her the rest of the world is so proud not to be an American.  You know I was having trouble thinking about that one.  Then laying in the puddle with oil dripping in my face, it came to me.  We're always the first one's to try.  It doesn't matter if we fall on our ass or not, we're first out of the gate.  Even when we do fail, we get back up and give it another shot.

Sitting there with trucks of jet fuel whizzing by, this became clear, as I was the only one other than the driver trying to remedy the situation.  He provided the wire, I had my knife and good ol' duct tape.  We had lights and bus full of ungrateful tourists in 10 minutes.

Yup, I'm a redneck, but damn it, it's good to know who you are.
