MK to be Featured on SPEED TV's Dangerous Drivers

Mountain Khakis is to be featured on SPEED TV's Dangerous Drives.  Episode 12 of the series will feature Overland Journal’s Publisher and MK Ambassador, Scott Brady, and another MK Ambassador and Senior Photographer, Sinuhe Xavier.  They will travel through 500 miles of Utah Backcountry testing American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) – Brute and new Hemi powered Jeep Unlimited in the worst snow conditions recorded in 40 years.

RECAP: MK Supports the FL Horse Park Trails in Fridged Temps

The Florida Horse Park Horse Trials kicked of this past weekend in Nordic Ocala Florida.  We had record breaking cold temperatures and even had our first snow fall in over thirty years.  Despite the weather, things ran incredibly smoothly and we were excited to see that only two of the competitors withdrew due to the cold.  Eventers really are a hardy bunch of folks. 

On Sunday morning it was so cold that the water jump froze over.  For those of you that don't know much about this sport, just imagine what it would be like jumping a horse over a log and landing in a pond with a quarter inch of ice on it!  Needless to say, we had to remove the ice before the competition started. 

In the end it was a great weekend of competition and the Eventing competitors showed that they know how to have a great time no matter what Mother Nature throws at us.

Mountain Khakis is Proud to be in Haiti

Through various cash and product donation, Mountain Khakis (and Mountain Sprouts) will be making a presence in Haiti.

 

From MK dealer, Circle Seven Outpost & Provisions - “They (an orthopedic surgeon team) have an official uniform that is heavy and even the red t-shirt that they wear with SC-1 DMAT printed on the front and back is thick. Before he left, I took his red Cloudveil t-shirts from Circle Seven and had SC-1 DMAT printed on the front and back. He said he is wearing that and Mountain Khakis every day, instead of the government issued heavy pants and shirt. The shirt washes and dries so quickly. His text said he was "very clean and comfortable".  What a relief! His description of the Haitians is that they are "kind and beautiful people.’”

Summitt Up Post 31 - "From the Summit of SC"

“This is the second post from South Carolina's highpoint, Sassafras Mountain.  As you will be able to tell in the video, this highpoint is another one of those that you go to just because...there is not much of view, not much of a climb and it is not very remote.  Still, climbing it did mark being 20% done with my climbs, so that alone was awesome for me! 

I also had some people from the South Carolina's Alzheimer's Association climb this one with me, which was great as well.  It will, without a doubt, be the best minute and 54 seconds of your day! Enjoy!”
